Weekend wind-down with Rosemary

Join us for a gentle, restorative meditation class on Friday afternoons to help you winddown for the weekend.

Mayo Cancer Support is delighted to welcome local meditation teacher, Rosemary Duffy, to Rock Rose House for a block of six weekly meditation classes commencing on Friday, January 23rd at 3.45pm.

Rosemary is a primary school teacher by trade and currently works with Mayo Mental Health Association.

She holds a Master’s in Applied Positive Psychology, as well as being a qualified meditation teacher.

She has tailored a beautiful meditation class for clients of Mayo Cancer Support who are undergoing or have completed cancer treatment or are caring for someone with cancer or grieving the loss of someone to cancer.

Our weekend wind-down classes will begin with gentle breathing exercises and a body scan to help participants settle in. Rosemary will teach different pranayama techniques (breathing techniques which expand the energy in our body) each week, as well as delivering a simple guided meditation.

In the second half of the class, participants will be invited to lie down and get comfortable and try out Yoga Nidra – sleep yoga.

This is a form of deep relaxation and includes visualization, breathing, and a focus on various body parts. Many people fall asleep in Yoga Nidra as it is so relaxing so if this happens to you it means it is working!

There is no experience required for this class. Come along and learn how to be still and present in order to calm the nervous system, release tension and stress and promote restful sleep.

There is no charge for this class but places are limited so call to reserve yours now on (094)9038407 or email: info@mayocancersupport.ie.
