New Hatha Yoga Classes
We are delighted to introduce a new type of yoga to our group activities at Mayo Cancer Support Association in 2026.
Hatha is a branch of yoga that uses physical techniques to try to preserve and channel vital energy and bring equilibrium to the body and mind. It is typically slower-paced than other styles of yoga, helping practitioners to focus on alignment, breath, and mindfulness.
These classes will be held in our headquarters in Castlebar, Rock Rose House, at 11.30am every Monday from March 23rd for six weeks (excluding bank holidays).
The instructor for these classes is Fiona McGrath. Fiona previously worked as a physiotherapist and has been teaching yoga for 4 years.
She is passionate about how it can support health and well-being and has coordinated her classes for Mayo Cancer Support to be slow-paced sessions, incorporating gentle movement, balance, breathing control and relaxation.
These classes are suitable for beginners and will help to strengthen the body and mind, boost emotional balance and support participants in managing the stresses of ill health.
Classes are free of charge but numbers are limited so please reserve your place by calling us on (094)9038407 or email info@mayocancersupport.ie
