Creative psychotherapy for teens/young adults

Did you know that Mayo Cancer Support Association can offer tailored support for teenagers/young adults you have been impacted by a cancer diagnosis or bereavement?

Young people who are in this age-bracket can experience significant emotional, social and development disruptions when impacted by an occurrence of cancer - either personally or in a loved one.

It can leave them struggling with complex feelings including anxiety, anger and isolation.

They may exhibit withdrawal, sleep disturbances, risky behaviors, or accelerated maturity, struggling to balance grief or anxiety with normal adolescent life.

Teenagers and young adults may not feel comfortable/confident in a formal one-to-one counselling session and are too mature for play therapy.

If you know a young person in this situation then our FREE creative psychotherapy service may be an ideal support for them.

Our professional creative psychotherapist uses creative activities and other non-verbal tools for expression, to help teens and young adults to process difficult emotions, trauma and anxiety in a less threatening way than direct talk therapy.

These sessions are designed to help young clients build self-esteem and communication skills in a safe, supportive environment.

To find out more contact us between 9.30am and 5pm from Monday to Friday on (094)9038407 or email info@mayocancersupport.ie.
